54 Injured as train crashes in Barcelona

Around 54 people were injured in a train crash at a major railway station in Barcelona Spain. According to the reports Train did not break properly while entering the station, which lead to it crashing the buffer. The incident occurred at the peak hours at the Francia station, in the city centre.

The train carrying passengers from Sant Vicenc de Calders, a village in the province of Tarragona hit the buffer at a reduced speed, limiting the number of casualties.

According to the Emergency Service reports, 1 person was wounded badly though he did not have any life threatening injuries. 18 people had to be admitted in hospital while others escaped with minor injuries. The driver is also among the 18 injured and has been in a state of shock post the incident.
