After Germany, Malta legalises same sex marriage

Malta, dominated by catholics in the country on Wednesday passed a measure to legalise same sex marriage. The law was leagilazied with a majority of 66 -1 parlimentarians votes in favour of LGBTI rights in catholic dominated country.

After winning the election is June, Jospeh Muscat had promised to make the  same sex marriage bill one of his priority. On his achievement of the same, he was reported as quoting “This shows that our democracy , our society has reached an unprecedented level of maturity and a society where we can all say we are equal.”

Malta, becomes the 17th and the latest nation among the European nations to leagialize the same sex marriage.
