Colombian rebels killed two Ecuadorean journalists

The Ecuadorean President, Lenin Moreno, has confirmed that the Ecuadorian journalists who were allegedly kidnapped by the Colombian rebels have been killed by the rebels.

As per the information remain with the Ecuadorean authorities, the journalists have been kidnapped by a dissent faction of the disbanded FARC rebel group.

The President, while publicising the killing of the journalists though a broadcast medium, has offered a huge reward for those who help trace the leader of the group which kidnapped and killed the journalists.

The Ecuadoran Supremo has also assured that his government would deploy more security and police personals in the Ecuador-Colombia border.

It is learned that the dissent faction of the disbanded FARC rebel group is running a huge drug trafficking network in the Latin American region. The Ecuador-Colombia border, as per a media report, is the most important link in the network.

From the Colombian official documents, it is clear that at least 1000 rebels are presently working with the dissent group, which is in a sense a well-organised criminal group.

Along with the journalists, a driver who was with them when the journalists were kidnapped was also abducted and killed, according to the Ecuadorian President’s statement.

A journalist opines that the International agencies should develop a concrete policy to protect those journalists working in the lawless lands.
