Delhi government to form book banks.

Delhi government has asked the school authorities to collect old usable textbooks from their students of all classes and create book banks. The initiative is up, based on the move from the National Green Tribunal’s recommendation to hold used books to a better purpose. The collected books will be offered to the underprivileged children. Hence, the education department has directed schools have to collect the books of the previous year academic session from student on voluntary basis for the book bank.

As the students pass out, especially in higher class every year tonnes of paper get consumed in printing of the books. And most books of the previous class go redundant.

The collected books will be endow with to the less privileged children through School Management Committees.
