During Onam Ayyappa devotees asked not to go to Sabarimala shrine

sabarimalaThe Travancore Devaswom Board of Sabarimala have advised the devotees of not visiting the hill shrine during the Onam festival as the flood waters in the Pampa river at the foothills still haven’t receded.

The devasting deluge in roads nearby of Pampa have been damaged and several trees en route to the temple hilltop have been shattered under the impact of heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the path towards the shrine is also quite dangerous as its filled with mud said the TDB.

The temple will open for Onam poojas on 23 August and close on August 28.
