Earthquake at Greek Island Kos and Turkey’s Aegean coast

turkey-earthquakeAn earthquake of magnitude 6.7 was experienced at the Greek Island Kos and Turkey’s Aegean coast. A rough figure as now estimates 2 people dead and more than 300 people have been injured in the earthquake stuck on Friday morning.

The two reported killed were tourists from Sweden and Turkey as the roof of a bar collapsed. There were also reports of mini Tsumani hitting the Island and flooding the beach resorts and hotels. Turkish disaster officials recorded 20 aftershocks.

According to the statement by greek island city’s mayor, Giorgos Kyritsis “ The buildings affected were mostly old and were but before the earth quake building codes were introduced.”

Thousands of tourist have been stranded outside the airports post the earthquake.
