Ethiopia: Severe explosion hits PM Abiy Ahmed’s rally

Bringing back the negative feelings of insecurity and fear into the minds of Ethiopians who are hopping a new sunrise of peace and freedom with the induction of a progressive leader, Abiy Ahmed, at the helm of the country’s administration, a severe explosion (most probably, targeted to harm the leader who promises to bring in all those positive things the Ethiopians earnestly crave for) has hit the rally organised at the Meskel Square in the East African country’s capital of Addis Ababa for the Prime Minister.

The disastrous blast has occurred just after the leader’s address speech to tens of thousands of people gathered in the square to see him and listen to his words.

The security forces have intervened in a timely manner to rush the leader out of the chaos in order to protest the life of their leader from those have tried to harm their leader. Several people have been injured in the deadly attack. No information regarding the victims has yet been publicised. From the preliminary description of the locals who has witnessed the attack, it is clear that many of those who have attended the function may have lost their life on the spot itself.

Is Ethiopia once again going back to its fearful past?
