Europe witnesses extreme heat : Temperature hits 44C

Europe has witnessed record breaking heat waves across the continent. Heath warnings have been issued as the temperatures have reached potentially dangerous levels. The extreme heat has sparked wildfires across the different cities and towns on this region. Some regions have faced a threat of severe drought due to the heatwave.

26 European countries have been given health warnings due to the increase heat which would at least last till Monday. The recorded heat of 44C has been the highest in a decade in this region. Vatican city had taken steps a week back to control to usage of water as the drought hit the city. The fountains across the city were shut down and only a few were operating to meet the public needs.

Tourists in some of the southern European cities have been cooling them off across by dousing themselves in water from public fountains and walking under the shades of pasasols.
