Former CIA agent booked on charges of unlawful retention of classified information

Former Central Intelligence Agency agent Jerry Chun Shing Lee has been booked by the Federal Bureau of Investigation officials on charges of unlawful retention of classified information.

Lee was a case officer in the CIA. He maintained a top secret clearance and signed non-disclosure agreement with the CIA as part of his job’s character.

As per the preliminary information, the FBI’s arrest has some connection with the case related to the crippling of the CIA’s secret spy operations in China.

Recently, several secret agents and informers operating with the CIA in China was either killed or jailed.

The aforementioned issue was one of the most unpleasant disasters that the country’s secret service sector faced in the recent history.

The arrested ex-spy has not responded to the media persons. At this moment, it is not clear why he possessed the classified information with him.

If he is found guilty, he will have to face a serious punishment of nearly ten year imprisonment for the crime.

The US authorities have not revealed any serious information about the arrest yet. At this moment it is not clear when the arrest have been made by the FBI.
