France: Macron’s ministers mired in sexual harassment allegations

A couple of weeks after French Budget Minister Gerald Darmanin was accused by a woman of pressing her into non-consensual sex, another senior French minister of Emmanuel Macron, Environment Minister Nicolas Hulot, has also fallen into the clutches of sexual allegation.

Though at this stage no victim has courageously come forward to report the sexual harassment, the rumours spreading against the minister have slightly jolted the political hemisphere of the country and the government led by the newly-emerged political party La Republique En Marche.

As per the report, the minister has denounced all rumours and expressed willingness to face any kind of investigation.

It seems that this time the soldiers of Macron are not ready to let the allegation to create confusion among its voters.

The French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, has come to the rescue of the most popular minister of the En Marche government.

Strongly defending his colleague, he has asserted that there was no reason to doubt the environment minister’s words.

It is clear that unlike the budget minister the environment minister has very high image in the political hemisphere.

For that reason, no opposition party have strongly come forward against the environmentalist-turned political leader.

Notably, Macron has not yet delivered a strong statement in the issue.
