The French government headed by the newly elected president Emmanuel Macron visions to clean up gas and diesel powered vehicles on its road by 2040. The initiative comes after a day Volvo decided to clean out vehicles that solely ran on the combustion and to have electric motor in every car it manufactures from 2014.

France is keen to fight against the growing concern of the environment. Nicolas Hulot, incharge of France’s “ecological transition”, said the move would make the automobile industry more innovative and help them become the market leaders. The government has also promised to provide a list of initiatives to make world a better place of living. Its has decided to go for a cash for clunkers program to help pay the people who willingly give up on their old cars and trade for a cleaner and eco friendly vehicle.

France accounted to 4% of hybrid and alternative fuel car out of total 2 million cars south by the French drivers. But it visions to boost up the sales in near future. The journey has not been easy as electric motored car isn’t feasible, but the implementing the same with the combustion engine would reduce the factor that pollutes the environment.
