French investigators arrested former President Sarkozy

Nicolas Sarkozy, the former centre-right President of the European country of France, has been arrested by the investigators in order to question him in connection with an ‘unjustifiable political funding’ case.

This is not the first time the former President has been questioned in the case. In the past, the ex-supremo has been questioned several times in connection with the case.

In all earlier questioning sessions, he has maintained firmly in his stand that he has done no wrong.

As per the case, he received a huge fund from the erstwhile Libyan autocrat, Col Muammar Gaddafi, during his presidential campaign.

Those supports the ex-president believe that the case is politically motivated as he is still one of the most promising leaders the centre-right front has.

It was in the year 2012, Mr Sarkozy lost to the centre-left front. The case was actually registered during the time when the country was under the centre-left regime which is the prime rival of the erstwhile centre-right political front led by Mr Sarkozy until the year 2012.

As per a latest update published in an International media, one of the ministers who worked under the centre-right regime led by Mr Sarkozy has also been booked by the investigators for questioning.
