German-Turkey bilateral relation derails

Once again the bilateral relation between Germany and Turkey has met a serious crisis, when the Turkish representative, Justice Minister Bekir Bozdag, has been denied permission to conduct an event in Germany. In order to show the strong disapproval over the German government’s action, the Turkish government has summoned the German ambassador to Ankara and expressed strong protest. As per the report, the permission for the event was rejected by the German local government authorities, citing that the venue arranged for the event was not capable to accommodate all members who were expected to participate in the function properly. Earlier, the Turkish government had provoked the German authority by arresting a German journalist, named Deniz Yucel. It was alleged that he had helped the people who possess some extremist propaganda aiming at derailing the Turkish government.

In the aftermath of the infamous coup attempt aiming to topple President Recep Tayyip Erdogan government, the Turkish security forces executed a violent crackdown across the country, arresting numerous journalists, politicians and intellectuals. It is alleged that the Turkish government has been trying to shut all dissident voices forcefully and has been disturbing the peaceful life of a large section of the society since the infamous coup which failed to gain the desired result as a result of the timely interference of the common people. The stains in the Turkish-German relation are likely to alter the power balance of the ailing European region.
