Heavy rain batters Greece; at least fifteen died in flash flood

As many as fifteen people have died in the flash flood created by the heavy rain, which has been battering the country for last few days.

Mandra, Nea Peramos and Megara are one of the three regions of the country which have experienced the worst aftereffect of the heavy rainfall.

As per the report, the majority of those who have been killed in the attack have been elderly people. Those people who have participated in the rescue operations have informed the media personals that the dead bodies of those who have been killed have been recovered from the houses destroyed by the flood.

There are many who have been reported missing in the regions where the flood has demonstrated its ugly face.

In the wake of the horrible natural disaster, the Greece Prime Minister, Alexis Tsipras, has declared a period of national mourning.

An International media house has reported that the disaster has left around thirty-seven people injured. The numbers are likely to increase in the coming hours as the rescue operation is underway.

The disaster has inflicted irreversible damages on several properties belonging to the economically weak country, which was not prepared to face these challenges in any sense.
