Iraqi PM visits Mosul to celebrate victory over IS



Haider Al-Abadi, Iraqi PM visited Mosul to congratulate and celebrate the victory over the Islamic extremist group IS with the troops and the people of most. The fight back that started in 2016 to free the city from the militants of Islamic State can finally see an end. Mosul was seized by the IS in 2014 and was named as the capital of the Islamic State. It has been a combined effort from Kurdish Peshmerga fighters, Sunni Arab tribesmen and Shia Militiamen that worked hard with a determination to free the citizens in the country who were living with fear under the extremist Islamic Group.

One of the officials of  PM’s office said the city was finally liberated but they were still one or two area where IS dominated. The steps have been taken to washout out the remaining people of the extremist group who have have been using the common man as their shield of protection. Mr Abadi in a statement said “Victory is certain, and what remains of Islamic state is surrounded and it is just a matter of time for us to announce the great victory to out people.”

After clearing the city of Mosul, the troops would be sent to clear the militants in other part of the country. It has predominately suppressed the people of other cities like Tal Afar and three towns in the western province of Anbar fro where it can easily attack the government held areas.
