Nearly 100 died in Cuban Plane Crash

As many as one hundred people have been killed in a plane crash occurred near the Cuba’s Havana Airport. Notably, the fatal crash has occurred just a couple of minutes after the plane’s takeoff from the Havana Airport.

Nearly one hundred and four passengers and at least six crew members were there in the plane which has crashed near the state capital.

Fortunately, around three people have been recovered alive from the crash site. The identities of those rescued alive from the site have not been released yet. The unfortunate fact is that all those who have been recovered alive are in serious condition in the hospitals where they have been rushed to after the incident.

The reason for the crash is not known. The authorities have constituted an investigative team and have asked them to submit their report at the earliest.

The majority of the passengers in the plane were Cubans as the Boeing 737 –the forty year old plan which has crashed- was an inland service plane, while all the crew members were Mexicans. There were also six or seven foreigners in the plane.

The authorities are likely to release the identity of the foreigners who have been killed in the accident soon.

It is the first time in the recent history the communist country has witnessed a flight crash of this much impact. The government has declared a two day national mourning.
