NK organises ‘low-key’ military parade ahead of Winter Olympics

Ahead of the Winter Olympics which is scheduled to take place in the South Korean city of PyeongChang, the North Korean regime, which recently decided to send their representatives and to march under a single flag along with their southern counterparts in the much-awaited sports festival, has organised a military parade in their country.

Compared to similar events happened in the previous years, the event which has been organised in the country this year has been a ‘low-key’ event.

Some people consider this development as an indication that the North Korea is considering a serious foreign policy shift.

For last few months, the North Korean regime has been showing less aggressiveness towards their neighbour with whom the country is technically at war.

Meanwhile, it seems that the communist iron curtain country’s attitude towards the West, particularly the United States, is not likely to change in the near future.

Clearly showing their attitude, the NK recently denounced the criticism, made by the United States, about its move to bring the event, which normally takes place in April every year, forward to February.

Noteworthy, the NK regime recently asserted that it would not meet the US representative when its delegates reach SK for participating in the Winter Olympics, in which several top US officials are expected to attend.

The Winter Olympics, which will begin on February 9, will end on February 25.
