Nobel laureate Malala to become youngest UN messenger of peace

Recognising the youngest Nobel laureate’s contributions in the social sector, Malala Yousafzai has been admitted in the most prestigious elite group of the United Nations, the UN messenger of peace, in which Muhammed Ali, Michel Douglas, George Clooney, Stevie Wonder, Leonardo DiCaprio and Charlize Theron are members. By securing this achievement, the educational activist, who was born in Pakistan where the village girls are not allowed to pursue their education because of the hardliner principles executed by the extremist groups which rule some remote regions of the country, has become the youngest UN messenger of peace. Despite the repeated threat raised by the extremist group, Ms Malala Yousafzai campaigned for the girl education and encouraged girls to attend the school. Soon, she became an icon of girl education. Irked by the sudden surge in the girl education rate and Malala’s campaigns promoting the girl education, the Taliban, the powerful extremist group of Pakistan which runs a parallel government in several remote regions, had attacked the girl, who was then a minor girl, in 2012. Fortunately, she sustained the bullet inju ry and emerged as a global icon of education. Now, her life is an inspiration to millions of students, particularly girl students, living across the world. She is presently doing her A-levels. And, it is said that she has been offered a seat in a prestigious UK university. Ms Malala Yousafzai strongly believes bringing change starts with us and it should start now.
