Portugal suffers serious fuel shortage due to tanker drivers’ strike

The European country of Portugal has been pushed to a serious fuel shortage, as the country’s government has failed to real a deal with the tanker drivers who have been protesting for last few days.

The fuel shortage has disrupted almost everything. Fortunately, the government has managed to convince the drivers not to disrupt the essential services such as hospitals.

The main demand of the drivers is the improvement of their job condition. The driver community is not happy with the wages they now get. They want the government to double the minimum wages offered to the drivers.

The public life has been badly disturbed by the strike. The people have requested for immediate settlement of the issue.

The Portuguese government has assured that they would find a solution to the crisis in the near future.

The latest meeting that the government made with the protesters failed to bring any significant outcome, except the achievement in convincing the protesters about the importance of offering undisrupted fuel supply to the essential services such as hospitals.
