Renowned writer Philip Roth is no more


Just a week after the unexpected demise of popular US writer Tom Wolfe, the Americans has lost another writer Philip Roth for age related ailments.

Mr Roth was the winner of the Pulitzer, Man Booker International Prize and National Book Award. The Jewish life and sex were the prime subjects of many of his novels. He entered into the challenging career of writing at the time when the US literature was in a declining stage. Though his first contribution to the field, Goodbye Columbus, published as early as 1959, it was his sexually explicit novel, Portnoy’s Complaint, helped him to gain an enviable popularity.

Apart from the aforementioned novels, the American Pastoral and I Married a Communist are the prime novels of this amazing writer. In his lifetime, this legendary writer has written nearly thirty books. Almost all of them have secured positive reviews, even from the critics.

Several renowned personalities particularly writers have offered condolence through their social media platforms.

His fans have said that he was one of the most talented and promising writers of his times. It is to be noted that he is one of the very few writers who has had to face very less criticism for his works.
