Romanians organise strong protest across country against prison release plan

Expressing extreme disagreement over a government plan, aiding release of nearly three thousand prisoners, proposed by Romanian Prime Minister Sorin Grindeanu, tens of thousands of Romanians, led by the President Klaus Iohannis, have organised strong protest across the country demanding the cancellation of the plan, which has been taken without the consent of the President and parliament. It is learned that the plan is tactically proposed as an emergency policy on which the approval of the president and parliament is not required. Though the Prime Minister has justified his move by saying that it is necessary to release some prisoners from the prisons in order to reduce overcrowding experienced in the prisons, the opposition leaders alleges that he is indirectly trying to rescue his political allies admitted in prison in the pretext of an unexplainable crisis there by letting them get off scot free. The opposition leaders assert that the proposal should be discussed in the parliament before taking them to the implementation level. It is learned that the President of the country has also joined the protest, citing it as an indignant action and claiming that the political leaders are illicitly using their power bestowed on them by the people to weaken the rule of law and judicial system of the country. Meanwhile, Liviu Dragnea, the leader of the ruling Social Democrats party, who is suffering a suspended sentence over a corruption and fraud case, retorts that some wicked elements are conspiring to carry out a coup in the country.
