Saudi Arabia attacks Hudaydah port; Aid agencies warn of a humanitarian catastrophe in Yemen

wlcjb

Several hours after the deadline given to the rebels holding the Hudaydah port in Yemen ended, the Saudi Arabia led coalition has launched a severe attack using their air, navel and army forces simultaneously in the port.

Meanwhile, the human rights groups and aid agencies have warned that the move would create a severe humanitarian catastrophe in the war distorted country of Yemen.

The aforesaid port is the one and only entry point available for those who support the people living in the rebel-held regions of the country. At present, several millions are in the need of steady support of the aid groups in the country, in which the miserable condition of starvation is a new normal.

Yemen is a country which has been affected by the world’s largest food scarcity and the world’s largest cholera outbreak. At this moment, it is too powerless to confront an additional blow. An aid agency warns that if the strike continues in the aforesaid port region, it would leave more than two lakh people helpless, even lifeless.

Anyway, Saudi is not likely to withdraw from the attack, as it strongly believe that the Hudaydah port is used by the rebels backed by Iran to bring in weapons and missiles into Yemen (the allegations against Iran and the rebels are always rejected by them).
