The bubble boy disease is a serious health condition. A person suffer from this disease will not have a properly functioning immune system in his/her body.

A group of medical scientists, based in St Jude Children’s Research Hospital in the United States, have cured at least eight people, affected by severe combined immunodeficiency, popularly called the ‘bubble boy’ disease, with the help of a variant of HIV.

The report has been initially publicised by the New England Journal of Medicine – the western journal dedicated to the sector of medical research.

The children have been treated in the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital itself. All children have been discharged as they have safely surmounted the troubled period.

The scientists have used the modern method of gene therapy to help the child overcome the disease condition.

It is the latest invention is the safest and cheapest method ever discovered to treat this disorder. The best alternative available is the method of born marrow transplantation. That method is very expensive, and is not always safer.

From what little that have been publicised so far about the invention, it can be assumed that it is the best method ever invented to treat the bubble boy disease.
