The Germany-Turkey relation has hit a new low, as the Spanish government has been advised by the German regime, which is at present not in a good relation with the Turkish authoritarian regime, to release Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s critic, Dogan Akhanil, who was arrested by Madrid on the Interpol Red Notice served as per the Ankara’s request. Mr Akhanil is a renowned writer, but he calls himself a political prisoner. He writes about the human rights abuses in the Arabian nation. He had been granted citizenship status in the year 2001, nearly ten years after his entry into Germany as an asylum seeker. Earlier in 2010 also, he had faced similar arrest when he had visited Istanbul.

While speaking in a television program about the Akhanil’s issue, the German Chancellor, Angela Merkel, has said that it is not fair to use the Interpol to deal with the political rivals. Notably, Germany has welcomed the Span’s move to release the arrestee. As per the report, the arrested Turkish critic has been directed to stay in Madrid until he gets permission to leave the region from the concerned. Notably, it is learned that Turkey, last week, directed those who live in Germany and are loyal to the Arab autocratic regime to vote for any party other than the mainstream political parties such as the Merkel’s party in the upcoming German election, in which the ruling regime led by Ms Merkel has an edge over her opponents as it has the support of a large number of loyal German citizens.
