Squid Roast

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

 

  • Squid (Cleaned) – ½ Kg
  • Dried red chilly – 2 nos
  • Onion – 2 nos (chopped)
  • Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon
  • Thinly sliced coconut – ¼ cup
  • Coriander powder – 1 tablespoon
  • Chilli powder – ¾ Tablespoon
  • Garam masala powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger – 2 teaspoon (chopped)
  • Garlic – 10 cloves (chopped)
  • Green Chilly – 2 nos
  • Pepper powder – ½ teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder – 1 pinch
  • Mustard seeds – 1 teaspoon
  • Curry Leaves – 2 sprig
  • Cooking oil – 3 tablespoon
  • Water – ¾ cup
  • Salt – to taste
  • Coriander leaves (chopped) – 2 teaspoon

 

PREPARATION:

 

  • Clean the squid and cut into small pieces.
  • Heat 3 tablespoon oil in a pan. Put the mustard seeds into it. After sputter, add dried red chillies and curry leaves into it. Then add the sliced coconut pieces into the pan. Fry it for 2 minutes.
  • Put the chopped garlic, ginger, and chillies into the pan, saute it well.
  • After 2 minutes, add the chopped onion. Saute it well by adding a little salt. After it turns brown in colour, add 1 tablespoon coriander powder, ¾ teaspoon chilli powder, 1 pinch turmeric powder and 1 teaspoon garam masala powder in it.
  • After 2 minutes, add ¾ cup of water and required amount of salt. Mix it well, after its boiling, add the squid pieces. Covered the pan with lid and cook it in a low flame about 20 minutes.
  • Open the lid and add lemon juice and black pepper powder into it mix it well. Cook until it is completely dry.
  • Add chopped coriander leaves on it. Mix well.
  • Squid roast is ready for serving.
