Steve Smith frustrated as rain stops play

It was a frustrating day for the Australian dug out as rain interrupted an easy win game.  Bangladesh, who won the toss and elected to bat first, were restricted by Australians for 182. Except for Tamim Iqbal and Shakib Al Hasan, the whole camp kneeled down in front of Australian bowling. Mitchell Starc was the pick of the bowlers for Australia with a bowling figure of 8.3 – 2 – 29 – 4.

Australian camp were much at ease after the first half as it was a must win match for them and target wasn’t that huge. They started of steadily with openers Warner and Finch. After Finch falling prey for LBW to Rubel Hussain, it was the admant skipper hunger for a win on field. But his hopes were shattered as rain, rightly predicted by the forcast, stopped the play. Australia were 24 balls short of completing the game in D/L method. The play never resumed and the Australian camp was filled with gloomy faces. Though acquired 1 point each in two games, Australia would be looking forward for a win against England next to book a spot for them in semi finals.
