‘The Ebola Fighter’ met a miserable end; Husband alleges ‘medical negligence

The frontline Ebola fighter, Salome Karwah, who was one of the personalities considered by the Time Magazine to award the ‘Person of the Year award 2014’ and was described by the magazine as the ‘Ebola Fighter’ and has been a living example showing the world that the dreaded disease, Ebola, can be defeated with the support of the caring society and determinant heart, has embraced a miserable death in the end. Her husband alleged that no one was ready to treat her as they suspected the presence of Ebola in her despite the fact that she was a survivor of the dreaded disease.

Recently, Salome gave birth to her fourth child by a complicated caesarean operation and safely discharged from the hospital. It was further alleged that when she was brought back to the hospital after she suffered some irritations, she was left in the vehicle unattended for nearly three hours until his husband forcibly stormed into the emergency ward to get a wheelchair to take his wife into the operation theatre. The medical authorities have launched an investigation on to the issue. It is assured that those who are responsible for the medical negligence, if any, would be brought before the law. The incident proves that the care must be given to wipe out the misconceptions around the diseases before strengthening the medical sector of the African country. The death of this extra ordinary woman personality raises a question: is this how you treat a fellow human being who devotes her life for a community and for a cause.
