UN demands investigation into missing Saudi journalist

Placing Saudi Arabia at a dangerous edge, the United Nations has demanded a thorough investigation into the man missing case of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, who allegedly disappeared after entering the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.

Turkey has claimed that they have audio and video evidences to prove that the missing journalist was murdered inside the consulate. They have also said that the murder have been committed on the orders of Saudi Arabia.

Tactically staying silent on the allegation raised by Turkey, the United Nations have indirectly pointed out that the mystery behind the missing case must be resolved.

The missing journalist, who works for a US-based newspaper ‘the Washington post’, is a loud critic of the Saudi regime. In his write-ups, he has several times criticised the Saudi regime. These realities have prompted many to believe what Turkey has said about the missing case.

Meanwhile, the Saudi Arabian authorities have rejected all allegations made against them in this case. The authorities have also claimed that they also want to know where their citizen is and what have happened to him.

The things are progressing towards a strange angle. Anyway, what we must learn from this is that every country must create a legal, social, political and, even, economical framework to protect the journalist community, which has been continuously hunted by those who strive to keep the people uninformed.
