Unusual snowfall creates havoc across ‘Alpine Region’

Prompting the European governments to put their disaster management team in an active state, the unusual snowfall has created havoc in France and Switzerland, particularly across the Alpine region.

Some regions in these countries have been experiencing snowfall for last thirty-six hours. Some local weather forecasters say that it is the kind of snowfall which is only seen once in every thirty years.

The unusual snowfall has adversely affected the transport system of several remote regions near the Alpine region. As per the report, the electricity supply of some regions has also been affected by the snowfall.

In one of the incidents which have clearly depicted how badly the snowfall has disturbed the region, at least thirteen thousand tourists have been trapped by the snowfall in a resort in Zermatt.

As per the report, the rescue operation initiated to help these stranded people by the concerned authorities is in midway.

The unusual climatic changes are the part of the new danger, which the Paris Climate Accord tries to contain.

These developments indicate that those countries, which have backed from the commitments proposed by the Paris Accord, should rethink their policy.

The United States is one of the countries which have stepped out of the Paris Accord, which proposes several steps to contain the climate change.
