US senate gives huge blow to Trump

United States President Donald Trump has suffered a huge blow, as the US senate has asked his government to withdraw its support to the Saudi coalition that tries to dismantle the Iran-backed rebels in Yemen.

Undoubtedly, it is the brutal murder of a Saudi journalist who worked for the US-based newspaper that has prompted the senate to take the severe step.

In the senate, the White House representatives have urged the members not to pass the motion that supports the withdrawal of the US from Yemen. The representatives have cited several humanitarian issues to justify their presence in the country devastated by the deadly war. Yet, the motion has been passed with sixty-three for and thirty-seven against.

Notably, Gina Haspel, a senior offer of CIA, who personally verified the evidences presented by Turkey to establish the involvement of Saudi Arabia in the killing of the journalist, has not attended the senate meeting. A member has criticised that the CIA lady has been blocked by the White House from informing the senate what she has learned from the evidence presented by Turkey.

The motion will be passed to the House of Representative. It is less likely to be passed in the House of Representatives.

Anyway, the present move is powerful enough to force the White House to relook the Saudi Arabia policy.
